In The Center

It is not the same thing to read about Aikido, to watch Aikido, or even to put on a gi and participate in class as it is to try to take hold of the Art of Peace and make it your own.

To get to the point where you're doing it "okay" and know it can be better. To know that occasionally you're doing it "well" and know that you're not consistent and that even your best does not approach the details and nuances of the technique. And then to be in the center and have your ukes coming one after another...

There is an old Spanish proverb, "It is not the same thing to talk of bulls as to be in the bullring."
