Fudōshin. Immovable mind or perhaps more accurately, immovable spirit. Finding your center, being calm and immovable in that center. It is one of the principles that comes up in the practice of Aikido.

This time I am not talking about the physical aspects of the art or even about the dojo. I missed class last night for the first time in a long time. I had one of the defining friendships of my life interrupted by death this week. He was 54 and we have been close since we met when were both 19.

All life is a manifestation of the spirit, the manifestation of love.
