Monday evening we were practicing kaitenage. My ukemi skills have improved over the last couple of years, but I still have much to learn. When thrown to the right, I can roll out of a kaitenage. To the left, however, I still hesitate, resulting in a minor train wreck when I hit the mat. Good ukemi skills are so important in Aikido that I see developing my rolls, falls, and sutemis as one of the most important things I need to improve on, along with everything else.

Here, from the Yoshinkan, is a video of ukemi practice. Their commitment to the ukemi is what I appreciate about this.
